Pass Interference now reviewable after rule change

The NFL has approved a rule for the 2019 season that will allow coaches to challenge both offensive and defensive pass interference. Coaches will also be able to challenge non pass interference calls as well. The Owner's approved this rule change with 31-1 vote in favor of the change at this week's Owner's Meetings.

The video above shows the play that sparked this rule change. Ram's corner back Nickell Robey-Coleman collided with Saints wide receiver Tommylee Lewis way before the ball arrives which should have prompted the official to throw a flag and give the Saints an automatic first down. The referee shockingly did not throw a flag and because the rule was not in place at the time, that split-second decision was final.

Defensive players are obviously not happy with this rule change which will only make playing defense harder than it already is. Players like Ram's safety Eric Weddle and 49er's corner back Richard Sherman were among the many to take to twitter and voice their displeasure.

I believe this is a positive change for the game, too many games get decided by poor decisions by referees so if we can minimize that aspect of the game more than I say lets do it. So what's your opinion on the new rule change? Comment below, I'd love to hear your opinions!
