Rob Gronkowski Retires

Announced on his Instagram Sunday night, New England Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski has decided to step away from the game after just nine seasons in the NFL. There has been a lot of speculation in the past couple of years as to when he would decide to retire after many injuries throughout his career. 

Gronkowski walks away with an impressive amount of NFL records, including:

• Most receptions by a tight end in Super Bowl history (23)
• Receiving yards by a tight end in Super Bowl history (297)
• Touchdowns by a tight end in a single season (18)

Gronkowski is without a doubt a first-ballot hall of famer and has already been discussed as the greatest tight end in the history of professional football.
